Carlo's take

This is fascinating and unsettling. It builds a powerful argument for embodiment theory, challenging the view of the mind as separate from the body by looking at philosophy, history, and pop culture. The future of robotics doesn't look great when you look at the capitalist rush to create humanoids today. With the focus on ownership and planned obsolescence in these robotic bodies, you feel that sense of dread. We are left with the unsettling thought that the robot's fundamental purpose is forced labor and achieving consciousness may simply mean realizing its body is not its own.
